Monday night, I attended a musical theater, playing “The Mikado” which by the name, is a Japanese oriented story.. The play was held at Civic Centre, so went to have a taste of it was very short notice really.. o.O The play was done by SARAWAK SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA (SONS CHOIR) which was in English language. Truly hilarious indeed lol

Summary : The play was about a young man which was Mikado’s son, ran away from the Palace to avoid marriage. He found his true love outside where he escaped to not sure what town, unfortunately the girl he likes was engaged to the local Minister. Soon, Mikado ordered the local Minister to behead someone within a month, else the Minister himself will be beheaded. As clever as he is, Mikado’s son used this opportunity to marry the girl he likes… etc ^^

The play started with a group of commoners? singing and dancing.. o.O

Suddenly.. A guitar out of nowhere wth.. ^^” btw, the one holding the guitar was the main male character, named “Nanki-poo” lemme continue with the names 1st~ See the tuxedo guy? Not sure wat’s his name, I call him “Rabbit the playboy” 😛

The appearance of the Minister and his assistant?? “Ko-Ko” and “Pooh-Bah” o.O you’ll see more interesting names..

And here comes the pretty ladies.. XD They’re commoners I think.. Wearing Yukata actually, but a lil short? ^^”

The Heroine~! Named “Yum-Yum”! Yes, delicious to eat, ain’t it? lol

The 2 sisters of “Yum-Yum” I think their names were “Pitti-Sing” and “Beep-Bo” swt… Note: they’re not wearing yukata but tradisional Chinese dress?? o.O

Ah.. The unforgettable moment of the Hero and Heroine 😀

Erm.. The kissing scene and the sound was loud~ 😛

uh oh.. Nanki-poo’s fiance, the one he ran away from ^^” Named “Katisha” Looked fierce o.O

While Ko-Ko was thinking who to behead, Nanki-poo was at the same time trying to hang himself. Using this chance, Ko-Ko offered to behead him in front of the public, will arrange a grand memorial ceremony etc etc o.O Nanki-poo then request marriage to Yum-Yum and will return her after a month, that means after he’s beheaded ^^”

They married o.O

Soon after that, Mikado arrived~ With Katisha the fiance o.O Then started another singing and dancing performance, which was.. kinda cute dance lol

This is what I thought : Scary, Fierce, “Keh Shiun-look” 😛

Nanki-poo successfully tricked Ko-Ko to persuade Katisha to marry him ^^”

Nanki-poo should be beheaded but Ko-Ko couldn’t bear it as a married man who’s going to be beheaded, the wife will be buried alive o.O Thus asked them to run away.. Mikado finds out the man who was beheaded was his son! In papers..

Then Nanki-poo appeared, hugged his father and vice versa.. There’s even a kissing sound if I rmb correct ^^” And so the story ended with more singing and dancing XD

A nice spot of Japanese elements XD Anyway, had a really good laugh during the play haha.. Would like to watch more of this kind of play ^^
